eMEDIX Earns CAQH CORE Phase II Certification

September 28, 2021 | Madison Moe

eMEDIX Reimbursement Solutions allows providers to process claims in real time, delivering one of the fastest turnaround times in the industry.

eMEDIX Reimbursement Solutions, a CompuGroup Medical brand, has achieved the CAQH® Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE®) Phase II Certification Seal.

This certification ensures that all eMEDIX users can securely process electronic queries within 20 seconds, and they can receive accurate patient eligibility and benefits information following a common set of national operating rules.

"As a clearinghouse with more than 30 years of experience, eMEDIX has always been driven to provide the highest quality solutions for our partners and clients," said Rebecca Shealy, VP of Development of eMEDIX Reimbursement Solutions. "The CORE Phase II certification demonstrates our continued commitment to improvement and to optimizing our processes so that the exchange of medical data is secure and easy to adopt."

What are Operating Rules?

There are billions of electronic transactions conducted by the healthcare industry each year. Operating rules and underlying standards are in place so that health plans, healthcare providers, organizations, clearinghouses, and vendors are able to exchange large quantities of electronic data more quickly, effectively, and accurately.

By specifying which business actions each party must follow during these transactions, these rules can reduce administrative costs and streamline the national healthcare system's workflow.

What is CAQH CORE Certification

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services selected CAQH CORE to develop national operating rules for HIPAA transactions with the goal of generating a more seamless and secure exchange of administrative data.

Widely viewed as the industry "gold standard," the voluntary testing methods of the CORE Certification Program enables organizations involved in electronic healthcare transactions to establish that they are successfully adhering to, or exceeding, the national standards for operating rules.

According to CAQH, the greatest value — and return-on-investment — from operating rules is realized when all entities within the healthcare system are uniformly certified and adhere to the same underlying standards.

By achieving CAQH CORE Phase II certification, eMEDIX has not only demonstrated that we are dedicated to going above and beyond to show that we are meeting the "golden standard" for operating rules but that we are committed to providing our clients with the most efficient exchange of administrative data possible.

What is the significance of CORE certification for eMEDIX partners & clients?

  • Providers will be able to receive their responses in real-time when they check on the status of a claim.
  • Payments are more efficiently processed between health plans and providers than ever before.
  • Providers can choose to process payments electronically.
  • The administrative burden is greatly reduced, which gives providers more time in their schedules to serve their organization.

"By completing CORE Phase II Certification, eMEDIX is not only making it easier for its partners, vendors, and clients to exchange data and demonstrate compliance, but eMEDIX is helping to bring about a more secure and efficient healthcare system for everyone," said Robin J. Thomashauer, CAQH Executive Director.
