With a CAQH CORE Phase 1 Certification, eMEDIX Reimbursement Solutions ensures fast, secure revenue cycle management

CompuGroup Medical announced today that eMEDIX Reimbursement Solutions, a CompuGroup Medical brand, has achieved the CAQH® Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE®) Phase I Certification Seal.

The certification ensures that users can securely process electronic queries within 20 seconds, and that providers will receive accurate patient eligibility and benefits information following a common set of national operating rules. eMEDIX earned the CORE Certification Seal after a thorough, independent testing process.

“As a clearinghouse with more than 30 years of experience in the ambulatory and acute market, eMEDIX has always been driven to provide solutions for our partners that ensure their success," said Rebecca Shealy, VP of Development of eMEDIX Reimbursement Solutions. "Earning CORE Phase I certification demonstrates a continued commitment to our partners to stay ahead of the competition and improve the exchange of medical data in ways that are even more secure and easy to adopt."

According to CAQH research, industry-wide adoption of the Phase I CAQH CORE Operating Rules alone could save the industry an estimated $3 billion. Phase I covers administrative data such as insurance and benefits, provided in real time through common internet protocols. By specifying the business actions each party must follow in these data transactions, the rules reduce costs for the nation’s healthcare system.

“By completing CORE Certification, eMEDIX is not only making it easier for CompuGroup Medical and its business partners to exchange data and demonstrate compliance; it is also helping to bring about a more secure and efficient healthcare system for everyone,” said Robin J. Thomashauer, CAQH Executive Director.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services selected CAQH CORE to develop national operating rules for HIPAA transactions to ensure that large amounts of data can be shared electronically in a fast, efficient way. Widely viewed as the industry “gold standard,” the CORE Certification Program shows which organizations and business partners adhere to or exceed the operating rules and their underlying standards.

CAQH CORE

CAQH CORE is a multi-stakeholder collaboration of nearly 130 organizations working together to develop operating rules. Participants represent healthcare providers, health plans, vendors, associations, government entities and the organizations that set standards for healthcare and data exchange. Four phases of CAQH CORE Operating Rules have been issued to date. Learn more about CAQH CORE.
