Just 48 hours

April 9, 2021

When things got serious right at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we went ALL IN! – literally around the clock: In March 2020 we moved over 90 percent of our employees worldwide to a networked home office within just 48 hours.

ALL IN! – 24/7

It may have helped that our CIO engages in firefighting and disaster control in his spare time. But naturally it was outstanding teamwork on the part of ALL involved. Whether the Management Board, HR, Communication colleagues or our IT colleagues in Italy who put up an ultra-secure firewall at record speed despite the fact that the pandemic was raging and the country was in full lockdown at that time. No matter who, no matter where, everyone surpassed themselves together.

A jolt went through the company. When everyone is concentrated and focused on dealing with one issue, then things can really be accomplished.

The result: ALL employees were able to work from the safety and protection of their own homes within just 48 hours. All of the processes ran smoothly. This is because we have an extremely agile IT system, our management staff trusts in our colleagues and our HR department and our Communication colleagues do great work internally and externally. And because we know what it's all about. Because together we go ALL IN! for community.

Stability through flexibility

We already knew this before, but relocating to the home office in record time made it clearer to us than any project before: we are always ready and able to adapt our core processes to new situations. Thanks to our flexible cooperation, coordination and communication, but also because of our common goal in mind: to support our customers worldwide to the best of our ability with intelligent e-health solutions. And we do this regardless of where we work - whether successfully remote or in the office.

Planning growth with foresight

Even in acute exceptional situations, such as the relocation of employees to home offices, we have the duty to plan the development and growth of the company wisely and in the long term. We act accordingly.

In 2020, for example, the company was also converted into a partnership limited by shares (KGaA) and acquired parts of Cerner's business – the biggest M&A deal in our company's history.
