Some people plan every step of their career. Others take the scenic route, say yes to unexpected challenges, and end up exactly where they’re meant to be. Bianca Bălteanu is part of the second group. And we’re so glad she is. Today, she’s a QA Manual Specialist and Team Leader on the CLICKDOC Appointment Booking project. But her journey didn’t start with IT. It started with curiosity.
"I didn’t dream of working in IT," Bianca confesses. "In university, I just wanted to work, to gain some experience, and have my own money."
She started in Customer Support, a practical move rather than a strategic one. But life has a way of redirecting you when you're open to it. A colleague noticed her attention to detail, her methodical thinking, and her natural QA instincts. She recommended Bianca for a QA role. Bianca had no idea what QA meant. But she said YES.
"That first QA job didn’t exactly blow me away. I did it because I wanted to see what it was like, but I was convinced it wasn’t going to be a long-term thing. Then I arrived at CGM. And here, everything changed. Everything was on a next level. That’s when I really started enjoying QA."
Born in Iași, Bianca moved with her family to Milan, Italy, at the age of four. It was a new country, a new language, a new life. And she thrived.
She learned Italian easily, soaked up the culture, and pursued her studies in a foreign language high school focused on English and French. Today, she speaks Romanian, English, Italian, French, and a bit of German. But her heart? It belongs to French: "C’est la langue de mon âme," she smiles.
Throughout her teenage years, Bianca was a kaleidoscope of career dreams. First, she wanted to be a teacher. That dream even came true during high school, when she taught French to younger students. But she outgrew it.
"I still love kids, but with the salaries in Romanian education and the career opportunities I have now, I wouldn’t go back. I feel blessed to be in IT, in a successful company, at such a young age."
Later, she dreamed of becoming a flight attendant, a dream she inherited from her mother. Though it never materialized, it sparked her love for travel and meeting new people. Another passion emerged during her high school exchanges and internships in Nice and Cannes: the hospitality industry.
"I loved working at that hotel by the beach, speaking French every day, living in my favorite language and city. If I ever change careers, the hospitality world is calling."
Bianca’s story is a mosaic of experiences. And that’s her superpower. From Milan to Iași, from classrooms to customer support desks, she’s always kept one principle close: explore first, decide later.
"I was always taught to try as many options as possible. You don’t really know what you like until you experience it. I’m glad I’ve tried so many things. And the exploring isn’t over. You never know when you discover a new passion."
Her family played a crucial role in this mindset. Her parents provided the education and support she needed to keep going, and her younger sister, born in Italy, remains her closest ally.
After high school, the family returned to Romania, and Bianca enrolled in the Faculty of Psychology in Iași. True to her driven nature, she graduated with flying colors. But she quickly realized psychology wasn’t her calling.
"Even if I don’t want to be a psychologist, every experience added value. Everything I learned made me stronger, wiser, and more aware."

While studying, Bianca worked initially on Customer Support and then on QA. And although she is grateful for the base that she received back then, she admits that "It was just something to get me through college".
Then came a message from CGM. And everything shifted.
"The CGM interview was the best experience I have ever had. It didn’t even feel like an interview. It was a debate, a discussion, from which I learned so much. The perspectives, the people, the processes, it was a totally different universe."
But none of that would have happened without Cosmina Teodorescu, the IT Recruiter from CGM who spotted Bianca's potential. Cosmina saw what many others would soon recognize: one of the most determined people you could ever meet, with a sharp technical mind and the heart of a natural-born leader.
"I will forever be grateful to Cosmina for finding me and bringing me to CGM," Bianca says. "She changed the course of my life."
Fun fact: Bianca and Cosmina`s birthdays are only two days apart. Well, and 8 years, but you get the point.
On January 3rd, 2023, she officially became a CGMer. And from day one, she had a clear goal:
"I told my VP right from the start: I want to be a Team Leader."
Fast forward one year. After dedication, excellence, and a strong desire to help others grow, Bianca became a Team Leader. Along the way, she also tried her hand as a Scrum Master.
"I wanted to see how that role feels. Every new experience teaches me something. I love being the key person in a team and I always say what needs to be said."
Fun fact? She also completed a master's degree in organizational management. Her favorite course? Leadership, of course.
"Even though leadership comes naturally to me, I want to keep growing and become a conscious leader. You can’t just rely on instinct. You have to be useful. Because you’re not a leader for yourself. You’re a leader for people."
Bianca juggles leadership and QA like a pro. And though she’s brilliant with people, she admits QA gives her a playful edge.
The value of a QA lies in their freedom to explore. And I still feel I’m a QA first and a leader second
Bianca lives with energy. Her two big passions? Fitness and reading.
She’s been hitting the gym for years, and if she misses a few days, she immediately feels the mental impact.
"Gym sessions saved me from hard times. They made me stronger. Don’t mess with someone who lifts weights! Maybe that’s where my growth mindset comes from: increasing the load, both in training and in life."
She’d also love to go back to modern dance, something she enjoyed during her time in Italy.
And yes, she misses Italy. Especially those moments with a warm muffin and a creamy cappuccino on a Milanese street corner, soaking in the morning sun and the scent of freshly baked pastries.
On July 15, Bianca turns 26. She has already accomplished more than many do in twice the time. And she’s just getting started.
Her story is a testament to saying YES, to learning from every moment, to never letting comfort zones define a life. Bianca lives with intention, purpose, and an unstoppable drive to explore.
"You never know when you discover a new passion," she says. And when you do, Bianca will be there cheering you on, probably with a post-workout glow and a book under her arm.
At CGM, Bianca is surrounded by people who build, grow, and constantly reinvent themselves. Whether they come from technical backgrounds or take winding roads into IT, there's a shared mindset: we don’t just deliver software; we shape the future of healthcare and ourselves in the process. That spirit of continuous learning and mutual support is one of the things Bianca values most.
"It’s inspiring to see how many people around me embrace change, challenge themselves, and lift others while they climb," she says. "I’m lucky to be part of a team where personal growth isn’t just encouraged - it’s celebrated."
Lesson learned? Determination, purpose, and curiosity are the strongest leadership combo there is. Bianca Bălteanu proves that some journeys are not planned – they are lived. And what a life she’s living.
