CompuGroup Medical (CGM) South Africa have launched our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, CGM CARES. Our goal is to collaborate with our customers to add value and uplift communities – one click at a time.
Our pilot project kicked off in July 2021, commemorating Mandela Month. Our customer, CancerCare, connected us with various beneficiaries across South Africa for this project.
In Cape Town, we worked alongside the Tygerberg Hospice, which offers home community based, intermediate, and palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. We supported Sungardens Hospice in Pretoria providing a programme of comprehensive palliative care dedicated to patients and their families facing progressive and life-threatening illnesses. Each organisation was supported with a project specified to their needs.
CGM employees gladly pitched in to spread some cheer by helping those in need. On 23 July 2021, the team in Cape Town joined forces with the Tygerberg Hospice Homebased Care team, preparing and serving over 200 lunch packages to the Uitsig community. In addition, we managed to distribute over 100 soft toys to little ones along with their lunches.
In Pretoria, the CGM team prepared and delivered special hampers for the patients and carers at Sungardens to remind them that they are loved and appreciated.
We will continue to work with our customers to support communities in need and help build a better South Africa.
