CompuGroup Medical Launches a New Extension Module Enabling Electronic Registration of Sales Designed for Information Systems Used by Ambulatory Care Physicians

Prague, January 10, 2017 - From 1st March 2018, the obligation to register sales electronically (in Czech 'elektronická evidence tržeb', EET) will probably apply also to most physicians. CompuGroup Medical (CGM), a developer and supplier of medical software, has been developing a simple EET solution integrated directly into the ambulatory software used by physicians. The module with the new integrated solution will help physicians to easily register payments in compliance with the law.

Physicians using any of the software solutions supplied by CGM will find the solution for electronic registration of sales easily available directly in their computers. The total costs of the module and of starting the electronic registration of sales are not unreasonable; additionally, almost all physicians providing ambulatory care who are personal income tax payers will be entitled to claim a one-off tax abatement amounting CZK 5 000. The general recommendation for the physicians is to have their sales registration devices connected to the system at least several weeks before the electronic registration of sales becomes obligatory, so that they can first operate them in a test mode.

We want to facilitate the migration to the electronic registration of sales and spare the physicians work and trouble. Integration of our services with the electronic registration of sales is a logical step. The registration of sales function in the physician’s office will be integrated with the information system of the physician, where patient information is entered including information about various fees paid by the patient,” says Jan Hlaváček, General Manager AIS, CompuGroup Medical Czech Republic.

Although most of the physicians will be obliged to start using the electronic registration of sales from 1st March 2018, some physicians will be required to start using it one year earlier. This requirement will apply to those who also sell products in their offices and their sales exceed CZK 175 thousand per year, or their sales turnover is higher than 49 % of the turnover of their office. In dental offices this would include for example sale of toothbrushes, mouth washes or toothpastes. In GPs’ offices this would include sale of food supplements and sale of contact lenses or glasses in ophthalmologists’ offices.

The objective of the electronic registration of sales is to ensure proper tax collection; the sales of businesses and other entities are registered by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic. Each entity, or office, will be assigned a unique registration number under which the Ministry will register their sales.

A brief questionnaire that physicians can fill in to check whether their office will be subject to the electronic registration of sales requirement can be found at www.cgmsvet.cz.
