Chatting with friends is not enough for Czechs, they want to communicate online with their doctors as well

Prague, 13th July 2016 - According to data from the company CompuGroup Medical Czech Republic (CGM) already 36,643 Czech patients don’t have to call doctor just to make an appointment. They can do it online, particularly on doctor’s website. To June 2016, the number of patients communicating online with their doctors has increased by 50 % year on year.

Via CGM LIFE eSERVICES patients can electronically make an appointment, consult their problems, get results of examination or online prescription. "The biggest advantage nowadays is that this communication is secure and protects confidential information. In my opinion this is a fundamental condition for this service," says Gynecologist MD. Pavel Soviar. " Another benefit is making an appointment online - both for the patient, who can always choose the optimal term, but it also means great relief to nurses from telephone orders," adds MD. Pavel Soviar. “The online service is used by patients directly in reference on our website.”

Waiting for the results of examination

Usually, patients have to wait for a certain period to get results of examination but nowadays, they may get them online. Even doctors, for instance in gynecology, appreciate this service because every woman should be tested for cervical cytology at least once a year. „We use electronic communication in nearly all cases when handing over information on the results of cytology or serious pathology within the biochemical laboratory tests,” says MD. Pavel Soviar.

Number of users still increases

CGM data also shows that 42,178 patients made their appointments via CGM LIFE eSERVICES in the period from June 2015 to June 2016. Doctors used the system for the same purpose in 15,663 cases. "From our statistics we see that patients and doctors keep up with the times. Currently, this system is used by 36,643 patients, which is by 52 % more than at the end of May 2015," says Lenka Volfová, Head of Marketing of the company CompuGroup Medical Czech Republic and adds: "The constantly increasing numbers reflect the interest of a growing number of patients and doctors. They also demonstrate that electronic communication plays a crucial role in the development of the whole health care system."

The availability of the service for individual doctors may by checked on the coverage map.
