How the Czechs imagine a modern communication with a doctor?
CGM survey shows: 9 out of 10 respondents would like to communicate online with their doctors

Prague, 17th October 2014 – View of the Czech patients on communication in health care is changing. They are beginning to see it as another service and from this is derived their idea what should the service fulfil. Above all they want deal their matters with the doctors comfortably online via the internet.

Paying bills, shopping, or sending forms over the internet the Czech users already got used to, now they would like to communicate this way with doctors. In addition to online making appointment, which some of patients already use, they want, for example, the possibility to see their examination results online and to apply via the internet for a recipe for long-term used medications or laboratory application form. This is the result from a survey among the Czech patients commissioned by CompuGroup Medical Czech Republic (CGM).

„It appears that the Czech users are interested in new trends. They welcome with great interest the possibility to communicate online with their doctors. They would like to use online communication in a far greater extent as any other online service. For doctors, there are thus opening up new opportunities to improve communication with their patients and to streamline the operation of their surgeries,"says about this trend Lenka Volfová, Head of Marketing of CompuGroup Medical. The CGM has developed and now also offers on the Czech market unique solutions CGM LIFE eSERVICES, which include all the above mentioned online patient services.

A similar change in patient attitude to online health services is confirmed by the doctors themselves. "The response from patients is mostly very positive. Patients typically use CGM LIFE eSERVICES mainly on vacation abroad when they have access to the internet, for consultation health problems or for communicating the results of laboratory tests before an unexpected departure. Some patients have got used to it and anticipate automatic delivery of laboratory results through this service,“ describes his experience general practitioner Ambrož Homola, M.D.

Nine out of ten respondents would like to deal online with making appointment, ordering the long-term used medication, viewing the results of their tests, making an excerpt from their medical records or picking up a laboratory application form. They were a little cautious of the possibility of online medical consultations, but even so this option was favoured by nearly 80% of respondents.
