Arena in Koblenz: CompuGroup Medical SE to acquire naming rights

The Koblenz arena is to bear the new name “CGM ARENA” (formerly known as Conlog Arena) as of January 01, 2018. The naming rights contract is to be for seven years with an option for renewal. The contract was signed at city hall on November 8, 2017.

Prof. Dr. Joachim Hofmann-Göttig, mayor of the city of Koblenz, calls the decision in favor of CGM a huge benefit, for the city itself as well as for the arena. "CGM is a Koblenz based exemplary company and we are glad to collaborate with them. The corporation is an important economic driver and employer not merely for us in Koblenz, but also far beyond."

"We are proud to have been awarded the contract," explains Frank Gotthardt, chairman of the board and founder of CompuGroup Medical SE (CGM). Since its beginnings 25 years ago as Sporthalle Oberwerth, the arena has developed significantly: It has turned into a multipurpose arena and magnet for more than three million people up to now - and that even far beyond Koblenz. Another strong location factor is CGM, the Koblenz corporation that is five years older. Since its founding in 1987, it has become one of the leading global eHealth providers in healthcare. The trademark rights of the arena represent more than just an increase of CGM's brand awareness and recruiting new employees: "For us, it is a clear commitment to the location," states Gotthardt, who has been deeply rooted in Koblenz and the region for the past 30 years. This is also reflected by that fact that more than 1,000 employees work amongst other things at supporting patients in taking their health into their hands. "We would like to help the people to be in the know, to hold a helpful dialog with doctors and pharmacists - and simply to enjoy prevention and healthcare," says Gotthardt.
