CompuGroup Medical First Quarter Results 2016

Koblenz – May 4, 2016: CompuGroup Medical SE today presented the financial report for the first quarter of 2016. The company, one of the leading global providers of eHealth solutions, achieved revenue of EUR 135.2 million, an increase of 2 percent compared to the same period in 2015. The operating profit (EBITDA) increased 10 percent and reached EUR 31.2 million.

With this result, it has been a good start to the year for CompuGroup Medical. The first quarter showed strong performance in the Health Connectivity Services segment and other high margin business areas, which lead to a solid group-wide margin increase of almost 2 percentage points.

Several positive operational developments also took place during the quarter, with special attention being made to the strategic electronic health card and Telematics Infrastructure pilot project in Germany. At the Berlin trade fair conhIT in April, CGM showed live for the third time the insured master data update (VSDM) based on the new electronic health card. With another official real-life demonstration of all required hardware and software components fully functional, CGM again showed its readiness for a successful rollout to test the Telematics Infrastructure in in the pilot region North / West.

Frank Gotthardt, CEO and Chairman of the Board of CompuGroup Medical SE, stated: “The start of 2016 was another strong delivery of our connectivity services – our HCS segment. Not only is HCS the most scalable part of our business, it is also the one where CGM can make the largest contribution to healthcare in general. Through these services we can solve many of the fundamental challenges of modern healthcare and I can only remain optimistic and enthusiastic about our future prospects when I see the potential that lies within CGM innovations such as medical value communication and our CGM Life technology recently shown as the fundament for advanced membership services for private health insurance.”

CompuGroup Medical reaffirms the full year 2016 guidance presented in the 2015 Annual Report. Group revenue is expected to be in the range of EUR 560 million to EUR 570 million and operating income (EBITDA) is expected to be in the range of EUR 125 million to EUR 133 million.
