CompuGroup Medical AG – Preliminary Results 2014

Koblenz – February 5, 2015: CompuGroup Medical AG (CGM) today presented the preliminary and unaudited financial report for the fourth quarter and full year 2014. The company, one of the leading global providers of eHealth solutions, delivered fourth quarter revenue of EUR 141 million and operating profit (EBITDA) of EUR 29 million. For the full year 2014, revenue was EUR 515 million and EBITDA EUR 98 million.

The doctor and dental software business continues its very positive development with 9 percent organic growth. In Germany, a significant part of the growth is related to the telematics infrastructure and Electronic Health Card (eGK) pilot project. CGM has during the fourth quarter fulfilled all main requirements for the testing of this largest networking project in the German healthcare system and all contracts for the required 500 care providers in the North-West region have been concluded.

In the pharmacy software business, a special seasonal profile last year leads to organic revenue contraction in the fourth quarter isolated. However, for the full year 2014, it has been a good year in pharmacy software with 3 percent organic growth. The rapidly expanding Italian part of this business made a further 26 percent growth contribution based on the acquisitions made during 2014.

Operating profit (EBITDA) amounted to EUR 29.4 million compared to EUR 28.3 million in the fourth quarter last year. As planned, the operating margin in 2014 remains lower than the Group’s inherent potential due to a range of special activities and projects during this year.

Frank Gotthardt, CEO and Chairman of the Board of CompuGroup Medical AG, stated: “I am happy to have completed 2014 with a tremendous amount of progress underneath our reported numbers. We start the new year 2015 with an improved and more efficient structure and a broad portfolio of growth opportunities in our established business areas. In addition, I am proud of our achievements in the telematics infrastructure and Electronic Health Card pilot project and we are fully on track to be ready for a potential nation-wide connection of all clinics and hospitals in Germany beginning in 2016.”

For 2015, CGM expects to continue on its growth trajectory and to significantly improve its profitability. In summary, revenue is expected to be between EUR 545 million and EUR 555 million and operating profit (EBITDA) between EUR 115 million and EUR 125 million.

CGM’s Annual Report including full year 2014 audited financials will published on 31 March 2015.
